Programul de voluntariat

Oportunități

Since Sibiu was designated a ‘European Capital of Culture’ in 2007, an annual programme welcoming international volunteers from around the world has been developed and has continued to run. Volunteers from diverse backgrounds, including theatre, the arts, education and business, participate in FITS and SIPAM, taking the experience gained here back to their respective regions and fields of activity to put it to practical use. Through this programme, future cultural leaders and creators build friendships and gain experience, laying the foundations for establishing new networks and frameworks for sustainable exchange. By fostering this collaboration, they become key players in shaping the cultural landscape.

FITS Volunteer Programme is one of the largest and most complex cultural volunteering initiatives in Europe, bringing together more than 500 volunteers from Romania and around the world every year. More than a support structure for the festival, it is a space for learning, intercultural dialogue and personal development, where participants become active contributors to one of the most important international performing arts festivals.

The diversity of departments within FITS allows volunteers to discover different dimensions of cultural management and festival production. While some support artists and companies, assist audiences, manage ticketing operations or contribute to protocol and logistics, SIPAM volunteers are immersed in an international environment dedicated to dialogue, research and professional exchange. By working alongside artists, scholars, cultural managers and decision-makers from across the globe, they gain direct insight into contemporary cultural practices and the international performing arts landscape.

The experience of volunteering at FITS goes far beyond the festival itself. Participants develop communication, teamwork, leadership, adaptability and intercultural skills while building meaningful connections with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. In doing so, they become part of a global community united by a shared passion for culture, creativity and international collaboration.
