Aine Nakamura

Aine E. Nakamura is a singer, and performance, theater and interdisciplinary artist. She creates transborder art of voice and body, using her sung and spoken voice, movements, wearable and objects. Her recent solo performances include a winning work for Site-Specific Performance at the 2022 Venice Biennale, focused on war and silk contextualized through the issues of objectification, and her performance project at Berliner Festspiele’s 2022 Theatertreffen, focused on recovery. Nakamura is the Awardee of the Fulbright Fellowship (Berlin 2021-2022), and The Leo Bronstein Homage Award from New York University. She is currently engaging in research about silk, and body and wearable in Japan for her new work supported by Center for Japanese Studies at UC Berkeley where she is a Doctoral fellow.
