About

Adelaide Fringe was born in 1960 and has grown year on year. We are the biggest arts festival in the Southern Hemisphere! For 31 magical summer days and nights, Fringe transforms Adelaide and greater South Australia. Our festival stretches from Whyalla all the way across the state to Naracoorte, with eclectic and vibrant events that include cabaret, theatre, comedy, circus, music, visual arts, workshops and so much more.

Our audiences range from 1 to 100+ years old, and come from all walks of life. This variety also pertains to our diverse array of artists and venues, which are at the heart of everything we do. We truly are ‘The People’s Festival’. In 2023 we were the first festival in Australia to sell over 1 Million tickets, with a total box office value of $25.17million, resulting in $23.9million being paid out in box office to artists and venues across the Fringe.

Honey Pot is Adelaide’s International Arts Marketplace that runs alongside the 4-week Fringe Festival. Now in its 17th year Honey Pot is for Artists and Producers that want to present work during Fringe to secure future bookings and extend the life cycle of their work(s).
Honey Pot is for presenters and programmers seeking work presented at Fringe to buy and program.

New collaborations, works, partners and opportunities are all possible through Honey Pot. Accessible for in person or virtual participants. Honey Pot provides services, events and a platform for artists, producers and presenters to connect. We support the professional development of artists, upskill the sector and help to prolong the life-cycle of a show with future touring and work opportunities.

Adelaide Fringe offers buyers a unique and powerful combination of being able to see works in front of a live audience in the public program as well as an opportunity to talk business in our industry marketplace. The Honey Pot team match-makes meetings between artists and buyers that ignite active programming conversations and accelerate deals. Honey Pot offers a tailored service for thousands of artists and creates bespoke schedules for hundreds of buyers.

Every year we record hundreds of outcomes worth millions of dollars and track shows being presented around the world through the connections and relationships established through our marketplace.

- A Quote of your Leadership:

Honey Pot completely blew my mind; it was creative, bold, out of the box and very immersive. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around and seeing people appreciating the arts in numbers! Every delegate and artist who aren't too sure about joining Honey Pot, absolutely should! It's an incredible and safe space for networking and creating lasting artistic connections.

- Our thoughts regarding Sibiu Performing Arts Market 2023 edition:

This will be Honey Pot’s first in person experience of Sibiu Performing Arts Market. Andy Beecroft, Marketplace Manager for Honey Pot is excited to meet everyone there and work on ways to help support your trips out to Adelaide in the future. He is especially keen to talk to artists with an interest in taking their work to Australia and Asia and to programers looking to find works from Australia to take to their theatres and venues. We would like to thank the Sibiu Performing Arts Market for their support and belief in collaborative relationships between out countries.
