Born in Istanbul, Serdar Biliş pursued his career in directing after receiving theater education, continuing his studies in London. Active internationally, Biliş holds a Master's degree in Theater Directing from Middlesex University and has won the Channel 4 Director's Award. He has worked as an assistant director in various theaters in the UK, adapting classics as well as developing new plays. Responsible for Drama and Performing Arts at Zorlu PSM in Istanbul, Biliş is also the artistic director of his independent theater company, Pürtelaş Theatre, and is developing a new musical based on Afife Jale. For the past decade, Biliş has been a lecturer at Kadir Has University and also serves as an instructor and director at Teatro Della Toscano in Florence.
