The vision of the Dutch theatre and opera director Johan Simons is to run a city theatre for the 21st century where artists from different nations and cultures and different disciplines can find a creative home – with the art forms such as dance, performance, films, installations and music. The core of the theatre is its permanent acting company. In 4 venues Schauspielhaus Bochum presents contemporary interpretations of great classical plays, numerous world premieres and devised works.
