Leman YILMAZ

DasDas – IO International Theatre Festival Director 

After graduating from Galatasaray High School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Leman Yılmaz studied Sociology at Boğaziçi University. Afterwards, she completed her master's thesis on "Dance in Turkey during the modernisation process of the Republican Era" at Boğaziçi University. During her doctorate, Yılmaz moved to Istanbul University, where she studied "Movement in Dance and Theatre". She received her degree of Associated Professor on “Management of Performing Arts”. In 2004, she went to Lausanne and worked as the assistant director at the Vidy Theatre in the play Eraritjaritjaka directed by Heiner Goebbels. In February 2005, she joined the Istanbul Theatre Festival as assistant director and than between 2013-2022 as artistic director
