Gilda Almeida hails from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and has worked at the Kennedy Center for almost 20 years in the department of International Programming. Her work has included all aspects of the field. Since 2005 she has c0-curated and executed many of the international festivals including The China Festival, Maximum India, Arabesque, Japan, HyperCulture etc. The most recent festivals have been Cuba in 2018 and RiverRun in 2023.
