Davide Giovanzana is an Italian and Swiss theatre director, theatre pedagogue and researcher based in Helsinki, Finland. He has a strong background in physical theatre, mask and object theatre. He is Honorary Professor of the Latvian Culture Academy, he has been visiting professor of artistic research at the Theatre Academy of Helsinki and he is currently university lecturer in acting at Tampere University.
At the moment he is planning a new international theatre project (Finland, Spain, Argentina) 3 Sisters; A Contemporary Tragedy. Based on the real event of three sisters killing their father, the play explores the notion of sisterhood, grieving, healing, and transnational solidarity among women. His post doc research, Performing Violence, will be soon published by Routledge.
