Training Artists Under Global Pressure Is arts training preparing the next generation — or quietly failing them? It asks what success even means: if a graduate cannot sustain a living from their art five years out, has the training worked, and whose metric should decide? Conservatories teach craft, but the field now demands fundraising, self-promotion, resilience, and entrepreneurship — are schools equipping artists or abandoning them at the studio door?

As tuition climbs and the industry pays less, when does selling a degree become an unethical transaction — and who can still afford the risk?
