When leadership is discussed, the usual slogans are borrowed from the corporate world: predictable, following the authoritarian or the lenient model, and generally oriented towards efficiency. In culture, and theatre in particular, none of them mean much. In fact, everything that matters in theatre leadership is rather different, simply because theatre is different. It has to be, and we must safeguard what makes it so. The International Association of Theatre Leaders is the only global entity that has emerged after the pandemic in the entire field of performing arts, with the declared purpose of nourishing inspiration, vision, and hope. They are the key values of leadership in a universe that merges the strength of collective spirit and the fragility of individual talent.
Keynote speaker: Octavian Saiu, lecturer, researcher, theatre critic, founder and President of the International Association of Theatre Leaders, Romania.
